Sayre School Students Excel on 2026 Advanced Placement Exams

The senior class achieved an 85% pass rate, with Spanish and Psychology leading the way at 100%.

LEXINGTON, KY, UNITED STATES, August 30, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The students at Sayre School once again demonstrated strong academic achievement on the 2026 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) exams, with an overall pass rate of 80% and the class of 2026 achieving an impressive 85%.

Students achieved excellent results in a variety of academic subjects, with pass rates reaching 100% in Spanish and Psychology, 95% in Science, 92% in History, and 90% in English. The total pass rate for those studying Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Statistics was 73%.

The total pass rate was exceeded by the fact that 69% of Sayre AP® exam scores were either 4 or 5, and the students' average AP® exam score was 3.4; furthermore, 61% of the Class of 2026 obtained an AP® Scholar Award.

Clint Calzini, who is the Head of the Upper School, said, "I am very proud of our students and faculty. The AP® results this year show how knowledgeable our teachers are and how dedicated they are to supporting students at every stage. The students have met the challenge and have put in the amount of time and effort needed to do well on these national exams."

A key feature of Sayre’s Advanced Placement® program is its dedication to both academic discipline and accountability. To receive AP® credit on their transcript, all students who enroll in an AP® course must take the corresponding AP® exam. The school currently offers 21 AP® courses, which give Upper School students the opportunity to pursue advanced study in a wide variety of subjects.

The scores for AP® exams range from 1 to 5; the College Board regards a score of 3 as "qualified", 4 as "well qualified", and 5 as "extremely well qualified". Colleges and universities can use qualifying AP® scores to grant college credit or give students advanced placement.

The results obtained by Sayre in 2026 show how strong its college-preparatory program is, how skilled its teachers are, and how committed its students are to challenging themselves through advanced coursework.

The College Board named Sayre School to the 2025 Advanced Placement® Program School Honor Roll, earning Platinum distinction for the third year in a row.
